Ziggy Elman was never a sidemen with Glenn Miller.Elman is best known as a sidemen with Benny Goodman, famous for his solo on "And the Angels Sing," which he also wrote the music for, based on an old Jewish style of playing called "fralich." The original title was "Fralich in Swing," but when Johnny Mercer wrote the lyrics for it, it became "And the Angels Sing." Elman later went on to play with Tommy Dorsey, and along with Chuck Peterson, was one of the featured trumpet soloists on "Well, Git It!", comp. & arr. by Sy Oliver.

dear Adrian!

if the second side of this shellac contains Ziggy Elman's "that wonderful girl of mine" record, can you, please, share it?

i'm years hunting for it!

the tune was taken by Al Jolson from jewish song "mayn shtetele Beltz / my little town Beltz" by Alexander Olshanetsky. (there is no relationship between original lyrics by Jacob Jacobs and new verses by Sammy Gallop).

thanks in advance!

and sorry for my worst english
